Transportation - Lights, Streets, Traffic, Transit
Welcome to the City’s transportation website! This site will direct interested stakeholders to information regarding traffic, construction projects, bicycle and pedestrian routes and plans, transit resources, transportation studies and provides an overview of the roadway system in and around Meridian, Idaho.
Transportation Agencies
In Ada County, the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is responsible for designing, constructing and maintaining the roadway system; the City does not have a roadway department. The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) builds and maintains the State highways in Meridian: Interstate 84, Eagle Road/SH-55, Chinden Boulevard/US 20-26, and Meridian Road/SH-69 are all ITD facilities.
Valley Regional Transit (VRT), provides bus service. The Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS) plays an important role in making decisions about long-range transportation needs in the Treasure Valley; COMPASS serves as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Ada and Canyon Counties.
We hope that you find the transportation-related information throughout this site beneficial. If you have any questions please contact Caleb Hood, Planning Division Manager at 884-5533.
