User Information

Public safety is of the utmost concern for the Meridian Fire Department. The use of illegal fireworks can put you and the public in danger. Please review the following safety information.

After 11:59pm on July 5th it is illegal to be in possession of or set-off fireworks. For the New Year’s celebration, you may light fireworks from December 26 through 11:59 p.m. on January 1st.

Disposal of Fireworks: For proper disposal of used fireworks, soak in water for 24 hours and then place in trash.  Unused fireworks please contact Boise Police Department, 208-570-6000.

Retail Sales

The retail sales of nonaerial common fireworks requires a permit through the City Clerk’s Office.  Click here for the permit application.

Part of the permit process is obtaining an inspection of the fireworks stand by the Meridian Fire Department.  Inspections are free of charge.
