About the Meridian Fire Rural District
In the early 1950’s the Meridian Rural Fire Protection District formed a partnership with the City of Meridian to better protect and serve the citizens of Meridian and the citizens in the surrounding rural area. A percentage of the Meridian Fire Department budget is funded by this partnership. This joint venture is proved to be very beneficial to the City and the Rural Fire District and continues today.
