Construction Notice:
Discovery Park will be under construction in 2022 as part of the development of Phase II; therefore, the picnic shelter capacities have been altered to accommodate the limited parking spaces available. Please advise your guests of the limited parking.
Playground/Restroom Temporary Closure Notice:
Discovery Park playground and restrooms are temporarily closed due to maintenance. Portable restrooms are available for use.

Picnic Shelters Available to Rent ~
Green Shelter – Capacity of 50 – Rental fee is $125 per 4-hour time block (9am-2pm or 4-9pm)
Red Shelter – Capacity of 30 – Rental fee is $90 per 4-hour time block (9am-2pm or 4-9pm)
Blue Shelter – Capacity of 30 – Rental fee if $75 per 4-hour time block (9am-2pm or 4-9pm)
Note: All shelters have electricity and charcoal grills that are included with paid shelter rentals.
Picnic Shelters can be reserved online at any time at https://secure.rec1.com/ID/meridian-id/catalog or by calling Meridian Parks and Recreation at 208-888-3579 during regular work hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, excluding major holidays). Shelter reservations must be paid for at time of reservation.

Discovery Park Phase I includes a total of 77 acres, 27 of which are currently developed. The developed area of the park includes three picnic shelters, two softball fields, a playground, climbing wall and boulders, splash pad, sand/water play area, concessions stand, off-leash dog area, stage and event lawn, educational gardens, and walking paths. Phase II of Discovery Park will include several new park amenities, including: a bike park and pump track; illuminated ball fields; restroom/concession stand building; teen area with skate park, hammock poles, and sand volleyball; an active area with bocce ball court, tennis and pickleball courts, a 4-yard dash challenge, and a basketball court; picnic shelters; paved walking paths; and additional parking. A completion date for this phase of the park’s construction has yet to be announced.
